Zuragen™ Injection

Centros™

Pipeline

Centros™ is an innovative long-term (greater than 30 days) tunneled central venous catheter for hemodialysis. The design objective and elements Centros hemodialysis catheter designed by Dr. Stephen Ashof this next generation catheter were engineered by Stephen R. Ash, MD and the development team at Ash Access Technology, Inc. with the intention of addressing key complications with today’s catheters – frequent flow failures, recirculation as well as high incidences of sheathing & clotting. Dr. Ash had designed the original Ash Split Cath® (Medcomp®) which was launched in 1997 and became the “gold standard” catheter for hemodialysis by securing nearly 60% of the U.S. market.

Centros™ represents a new approach for central venous dialysis catheters. The distal tip of the catheter has a unique curved configuration which keep the ports of the catheter centered in the superior vena cava (SVC) and away from the vein walls. As a result, the tips of the catheter are not placed in the right atrium, but in the lower third of the SVC. The United States Food and Drug Administration granted its 510(k) clearance for Centros in June 2007.

Ash Access Technology, Inc. has developed a strategic commercial partnership with AngioDynamics (Queensbury, NY) and agreed to give exclusive worldwide rights to manufacture and market the Centros dialysis catheter.
